Welcome to Wales, where just a hop across the border from England feels like you've entered a new world entirely. This compact country boasts inspiring hills, formidable castles and moody coastlines of crumbling rock and golden sand.
Generous, open interiors are flooded with natural light and offer views of the manicured gardens and open countryside. After conjuring up culinary masterpieces in a kitchen fit for a celebrity chef, relax together in the elegant lounge, or chill out in the superb – and superbly comfortable – cinema room.
Outside, there’s room for everyone round the long industrial-chic table, for relaxed al-fresco meals with dramatic views in the clear Cheshire air. And, when the evening temperatures dip, retire to the welcoming warmth of the garden room or the bubbling bliss of the hot tub.
There’s Wi-Fi, of course and a decent sound system; an Aga and Sub-Zero appliances in the kitchen; feather toppers on the beds and fluffy bathrobes in the wardrobe – but you probably guessed all that.
Six individually styled bedrooms give ample space for up to 20 guests. Gentle, untroubled sleep is guaranteed, in king and super-king beds with Egyptian cotton bed linen with soft feather toppers, to carry you off to your dreams.
En-suite bathrooms, in walnut, marble and natural stone, become places to linger, such is their opulence; with walk-in showers, luxurious toiletries and space to dance, if that’s how you feel!
Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs and DVDs offer entertainment options when you simply want to lie back in your room and enjoy some down-time in peace, and all the rooms have amazing views of the rolling Cheshire plain or the beautiful gardens.
What a location! Just two miles from the gorgeous walled city of Chester, where an abundance of fine restaurants, independent shops and cultural events are wrapped in a Roman box and tied with Tudor bow. Big-brand shopping is also on your doorstep at the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet.
If fresh air and nature are more your thing, it has to be Delamere Forest – the ancient ‘forest of the lakes.’ Enjoy miles of woodland walks, where woodpeckers, dragonflies and butterflies make their homes. Go wild running, horse-riding or explore the forest on a Segway. Britain’s largest Go Ape treetop adventure is here too.
Whether you head up-town or down to the woods – or both – this idyllic retreat is in the perfect location.
