Welcome to Wales, where just a hop across the border from England feels like you've entered a new world entirely. This compact country boasts inspiring hills, formidable castles and moody coastlines of crumbling rock and golden sand.
Now, this truly is a stunning twelve-bedroom manor house and one of our finest country houses to rent. It sits in a fifteen-acre private estate in the beautiful New Forest National Park and like the famous forest itself, the property is steeped in history. Built in the Queen Anne style in 1760, it has had some notable owners including Lady Bingham, wife of Sir George Bingham who guarded the deposed Napoleon, no less! More recently, the house has been extensively restored to provide first class style, comfort and facilities, whether you are coming for a family holiday, a special celebration or a product promotion.  The layout of the house – and the cottage and coach house also on the estate – provides lots of flexibility facilitating large convivial gatherings or relaxing quiet retreats, with plenty to keep everyone entertained throughout your stay.

Inside, the house mixes elegance and style with luxurious comfort and relaxation. We love the warm welcoming rooms where you can just sit back and relax and the cosy little corners for a bit of me-time. There is a wonderful sun-filled breakfast room; two living rooms with, of course, log fires; a truly elegant dining room that seats twenty four; a well equipped kitchen for those of you who want to cater for yourselves; a charming study; plus a cinema room and a games room so you need never be bored! By the way, we have a choice of local catering options, so if you don’t want to spend your time away slaving over a hot stove, we can arrange everything from breakfast to dinner with buffets and waitressed service, to hog roasts or mobile pizza ovens. We’ll be happy to talk through your options. And historic doesn’t meet archaic in our country houses to rent! Apart for the modern kitchen appliances, there is high-speed broadband and WIFI throughout the house; conferencing facilities with AV facilities and VOIP telephony; and digital entertainment.
As well as the big house itself, there are two other properties: Magnolia Cottage and The Coach House, all within the 15 acre private grounds (extra costs apply). The Coach House evokes thoughts of yesteryear with its cobbled forecourt, walled garden and homely feel. It sleeps up to eight guests. And Magnolia Cottage is a snug hideaway that sleeps four. Both have private gardens and can be hired separately or as part of the main house, giving you total flexibility. Of course, if you’re after total privacy, the best thing to do is book all three properties together, which will allow for a total of 36 guests.
Whether it's a one-off special celebratory meal, or breakfast, lunch and dinner during your entire stay, we can recommend a highly trained chef to come to cook and serve from your kitchen at New Forest Estate. A wonderful way to make your experience extra special.
We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at New Forest Estate just perfect. In all of our big houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a large group. Here’s a list of all the practical provisions we have at the house. If there’s anything you can’t see here but need, just ask as we’ll see what we can do.

New Forest Estate is fewer than 15 minutes’ drive to the sea. The Dorset coast is sprinkled with delightful unspoilt beaches and traditional seaside destinations such as Christchurch, Mudeford, Poole and Bournemouth. Further afield the incredible Jurassic Coast holds endless fascination for fans of fossils, geologists and dinosaur devotees.
Yes, while there is a well-equipped kitchen for self-catering at New Forest House and in the cottages, we can put you in touch with some very good local private chefs that can cater for you and your guests for a special celebratory meal, or for every meal during your stay.

Many of our guests choose to just book New Forest House without the additional cottages. Unless you book the full Estate, the additional cottages can be booked by other guests, however, they have a separate entrance driveway, and so won’t interfere with your privacy.
Yes, you can arrange for a local supermarket to deliver to the property any time during your stay. We ask that the time booked is after your check-in time, as it’s possible the house-keeper won’t be at the property before that time.
The check-in time is 4pm on the day of your arrival, and check-out is at 10am on the day of your departure.Â
We’re sorry, but pets are not allowed at New Forest Estate.Â

Yes, we ask for a refundable cautionary deposit of £2,000 during your stay. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).
