Description almost defies The Hacienda. It’s a Norfolk Barn conversion which has thrown away the rule book. Beneath the rustic beams, the glorious living spaces surround a large and truly delightful Spanish courtyard, complete with enormous hot tub.

Set in four acres of lush Norfolk countryside, The Hacienda is not quite ‘hotel’ and nor is it ‘home from home.’  In fact, it’s a decadent and joyous, self-described ‘home-tel’ where you can escape from the world and let your hair down.

With interiors by Russell Hall and Shaun Clarkson – designers to the stars – quirky details abound. These inspired touches, such as  the magnificent carved Black Forest eagle in the dining room, bring alive the vibrant personality of this property, against a backdrop of honeyed interior stone walls and high vaulted ceilings.

Close to the beaches, stately homes and open countryside of North Norfolk, and with space for 18 to sleep in 8 individually styled rooms, this is the ideal venue for fun family gatherings, weddings with a difference and is part of our collection of hen party houses and our party houses to rent.

Indoor and outdoor socialising AWAY FROM THE WORLD

Described by the Sunday Times as “one of the top ten places to stay in the world,” The Hacienda is hard to beat as a destination for your friends and family to converge and enjoy a ranch lifestyle. With all the rooms on one level, enclosing the Spanish garden – complete with patios, terraces, lawns and a huge 10-person hot tub – inside and outside blend seamlessly.

The dining room can seat 18-20 guests and has a laid-back lounge area at one end, before a cosy open fire. Ideal for pre-dinner aperitifs, or a warming night-cap. Through in the dream-like living room, pull a book from the shelf and while away an hour or three. Or just lie back and gaze through the floor-to-ceiling roll-back windows

Outside, the kids can play safely in the enclosed courtyard, while you soak up the sunshine. Fire up the barbecue in the late afternoon and enjoy an al fresco meal beneath the covered terrace. As dusk falls, sink into the 10-person hot tub, Champagne in hand.

Playfully stylish bedrooms FROM THE ‘CABANA’ TO THE ‘CORRAL’

The luxury ranch theme continues into the bedrooms. Here, one-off statement pieces, such as the silver birch four-poster bed in the Frontier room, vie for attention with whimsical details such as the dancing prince bedside lamps.

Kids will love the Bunk House, with 4 beds in the sumptuous style of a sleeper train, and why on earth is there a baronial style Scottish Cabin room, complete with clashing tartans and a wall-mounted stag’s head – who cares, there is, and it’s wonderful.

With bathrooms, showers and wet rooms aplenty, soft towels and gorgeous REN toiletries to pamper yourself, bedtime is both an adventure and an indulgence.

From protected nature reserves to Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Norfolk is a haven for nature lovers and peace-seekers. Visit the North Norfolk coast, a designated AONB, where wildlife is abundant in the salt marshes, forests and sand dunes. Take a boat trip out to the seal colony at Blakeney point, visit the magnificent Holkham Hall deer park and walk along some of Britain’s best beaches. Bring your binoculars because you are in the birdwatching capital of the UK.

Further afield, the mystical landscape of the Norfolk Broads is a must-visit and, for urban adventurers, Norwich is possibly the most underrated city in England. One of the UK’s most ancient cities, it has a thriving cultural scene and a plethora of great bars and restaurants.

We’ve tried to think about everything to make your stay at The Hacienda just perfect. In all of our big houses to rent, we provide all the essential features to cater for a large group. Here’s a list of all the practical provisions we have at the house.  If there’s anything you can’t see here but need, just ask as we’ll see what we can do.

Situated within 4 acres of the peaceful village of Narborough - between Swaffham and Kings Lynn - next to strawberry farm, and just a short drive from the spectacular North Norfolk coastline.

  • Are pets allowed?

    Sorry, pets are not allowed at The Hacienda.

  • What are the check in and check out times?

    Check in is at 4pm on the day of your arrival at The Hacienda, and check out is at 10am.

  • Will you hold a damage deposit during our stay?

    Yes, we ask to hold a cautionary deposit of £1,000 during your stay at The Hacienda. This is requested just two weeks prior to your stay, and is returned shortly after, assuming no damage to the property or its contents (see our Booking T&Cs for more information).

  • Can I arrange a supermarket delivery to the house?

    Yes, you can order online at Waitrose, Morissons or Adsa. We usually suggest booking a delivery for after 4pm on the day of arrival.

  • Are there local places to eat you can recommend?

    Yes. We'd suggest the following pubs and restaurants are within a distance of The Hacienda:
     

    The Carpenters Arms (6 minute drive)

    A characterful country free house serving excellent cask ales and offering excellent homemade dishes.
     

    Kings Arms (14 minute drive)Traditional 17th-century pub with a welcoming atmosphere for everyone, young and old. Here you’ll find East Anglian real ales served straight from the cask along with good-value food using fresh local Norfolk produce.

     

    Ostrich Inn (10 minute drive)

    An impressive 16th century coaching Inn, perfect for celebrating the joys of the English countryside.
     

    The Dabbling Duck (16 minute drive)

    By the village green with a duck pond, this super local with good food, scrubbed tables, and fabulous views to the village.
     

    Riverside Restaurant (18 minute drive)

    Located in a beautifully restored 15th century warehouse in Kings Lynn overlooking the River Ouse, providing excellent freshly prepared, locally produced food.

    Number 24 Restaurant (40 minute drive)

    Jonathan, Isobel and the team at Number 24 have built up an enviable reputation over the years for the food they prepare and serve. Excellent reviews and compliments from their customers continue to praise the consistently high quality of their dinners and lunches, each one a testament to the effort put in by all the staff.

  • How many guests can sit at the dining table?

    There is a indoor dining table at The Hacienda that can seat 20 guests comfortably. There is also seating for 20 in the Spanish Garden.

  • Are there any house rules we need to be aware of?

    Yes, to ensure you have a wonderful and memorable stay at The Hacienda, we ask that you understand the following important house rules:
     
    • No fireworks please
    • Not suitable for stag parties (hen parties welcome)
    • No additional day-guests please. The maximum number of guests at the house must not exceed 20 (without prior agreement).

  • What is the nearest train station to The Hacienda?

    The nearest train station is Kings Lynn (20 minutes' drive). London to Kings Lynn takes 2.5 hours.

  • What's the nearest airport to The Hacienda?

    The nearest airports to The Hacienda are:
    • Norwich International Airport (43 minutes drive)
    • East Midlands Airport (2 hours and 11 minutes drive)

  • Is the house suitable for children?

    Yes, children are very welcome at The Hacienda. The following are provided for children:

    There is parking available for at 20+ cars.
